Get to Know Jack.
With over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, I bring extensive expertise and a strong commitment to driving positive change. I currently serve as Executive Director of Boxing Out Negativity, a Chicago-based nonprofit championing positive youth development and disrupting cycles of violence.
Like many in the sector, I've had to wear many hats. I know what it takes to make a nonprofit successful. I specialize in working with startup and grassroots nonprofits focusing on expanding impact. Over my career, I've fundraised millions, built successful programs, and developed best practices that improve administrative efficiency and effectiveness.
I previously led resource development efforts at Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation, Chicago's oldest and largest nonprofit affordable housing developer. Before moving to Chicago, I led the development and operations of the Reeb Avenue Center in Columbus, Ohio, one of the nation's leading collaborative human services centers.
My education includes degrees in Public Management, Leadership, and Policy; African-American and African Studies; Spanish; and a Master’s in Social Work with a certification in Nonprofit Management. This diverse education helps me tackle challenges with a broad, integrated approach. I'm also a licensed social worker in Illinois.
